John, a Wake Forest University economics graduate (and still an avid Demon Deacon), joined Consolidated Planning, Inc. in 1990 bringing with him the background experience gained from his training as a U.S. Army officer, and his positions of Sales Director with Jefferson-Pilot Equity Sales, Inc. and Regional Manager for State Mutual Life, responsible for NC, SC, and VA. In 1974, John became FINRA-registered, and he is currently a Registered Representative and Financial Advisor of Park Avenue Securities LLC (PAS), a registered broker-dealer and investment advisor. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designation in 1978.
Since a young lad in Sanford, NC, John has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout, then a Scout leader, and continues with the Scoutreach Program bringing scouting to the lower income areas of the community. John has received many honors and awards for serving others for the good of all and in 1995 was awarded the Silver Beaver and the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award for Service.
John is very active in his church, Holy Trinity Episcopal, and their Servant Leadership School. He has served on the Vestry, has chaired of the Every Member Canvass, and was a trustee on the Holy Trinity Foundation.
An active Rotarian, John has over 3 decades of membership and service, having served as President, and many years as Club Secretary of the Rotary Club of Greensboro.
Amateur genealogist, John is active in his Scottish Clans as a historian.
John and his lovely wife, Marty, a licensed family therapist, have been married over 40 years. They have two wonderful sons and two dear daughters-in-law, and four adorable grandchildren. The family spends time together at Beinn Sholus, the Rosser family farm located in Grayson County, VA, 14 miles from the Appalachian Trail, which the Rosser family hikes regularly.
